A look inside
Jody’s House
For me, everything in my home has to be beautiful or practical — ideally both.

I never really set out with a plan for a room. It tends to happen organically, often starting with one thing I love. In the living room, it was the beautiful arch. We sanded it back to the original plaster, then brought it to life again with patches of colour and tone, finished with a little gold. That set the feeling for the whole room: grown-up, luxurious and full of character.
The kitchen and dining room are where I gather oddities, stories and as much colourful joy as I can. It’s the heart of the home, and everything in it tells a story. I wanted it to feel warm, cosy and a little womb-like, wrapped in colour and joy.
I love a home with soul: full of old textiles, gorgeous patina and unexpected finds picked up along the way. I’m always searching car boots, brocantes and antique shops, never quite knowing what will come home with me. I could write a book about all the random things I’ve found. Maybe one day I will!
Friends say there’s always so much to look at in my house. My ex-husband often moaned about “clutter” and regularly questioned my cushion count. I call it a collection, not clutter. Whether it’s tidy is another conversation.. and no one can have too many cushions!
Your home should tell your story — and everything in it should have its own chapter.
