Antique French Painted Wooden Furniture Panel

A wonderfully timeworn fragment of French history, believed to have once formed part of a provincial cupboard or armoire door.

The carved wooden panel has a beautiful shaped design centred by a small diamond motif. Layers of turquoise, green, soft cream and earthy red paint have worn away gradually over time, creating an entirely unique surface filled with colour, texture and character.

Now a beautiful decorative object in its own right, it can be displayed horizontally or vertically as a small piece of wall art.

CONDITION
Beautifully aged condition with extensive wear, chips, marks and losses to the many layers of old paint. The surface is textured and fragile in places, and these imperfections form an important part of its history and appeal.

The composition of the historic paint has not been tested, so the surface should not be sanded. Wall fixings are not included; please use fittings appropriate for your wall.
